CMZ Sistemi Elettronici engineers and produces in Italy electronic systems for industrial motion control.

We target to OEMs and systems integrators for the co-development of automatic machines and equipment with customized and specific configurations in multi-axis motion.

Established in 1976 focusing on the production of controllers & drives, today the company offers customizable motion & control solutions including the systems design, the electronics programming, the development of ready-to-use motion & application libraries and ad-hoc softwares, alongside with a wide selection of IEC61131 controllers up to 99 axis, servo drives, brushless and stepper motors up to 120 Nm strictly compact and Made in Italy, peripherals and I/O modules both digital and analogic, HMI operator panels.

Our high technological and safety standing is based on a team of 70 technicians and engineers. The systems realized to date in our factory count over 150,000 units.

The company is part of Soga Energy Team industrial group operating in power generation, motion and control since 1966.

CMZ was established as a technical design office for microprocessor systems.

NMOS microprocessor technology; CMZ adopted the Rockwell 6502.

NF0: design of the first standard product not commissioned directly by a customer.

It was a modular system with proprietary bus based on the 6502 microprocessor, created for many applications in the automation of local industrial machines, which were starting to increase rapidly.

Design of a card for the NF0 system based on MC68000 microprocessor.

The FORTH language was extended to 32 bit.

Adoption of system programmability by the end user.

Setting up of AWL compiler to make the system work like a PLC.

Adoption of microprocessor Motorola CPU32, 68000 evolution.

Compact controllers are joined to the modular system of NF0 series.

CMZ becomes a Research Laboratory recognised by the Italian Ministry for Scientific Research.

The first software library. It was for flying shear application.

The first CMZ proprietary field bus. It was based on CAN.

Strong implementation of hardware and software solutions.

New systems, new libraries, new programming tools, new dedicated system.

The business keeps growing and an international sales network is defined.

The first system integrators join CMZ’s network of worldwide automation partners.

New software libraries for packaging and robotics.

Adoption of CANopen as standard communication protocol for remote units.

CMZ opens new production facilities. Enlargement of R&D and technical departments.

SDS new generation of stepper drives.

Pulse/direction, RS232 and CANopen version.

New Full Digital System: motion control + drives + servo motors

CD1 new series for drives. SMB new series for salient poles motors.

CMZ adopts the standard IEC61131.

FCT new series of master controllers. The first FCT241 controller is based on PowerPC.

ISD new stepless integrated servo drive.

It is made up of 2 phases high torque synchronous motor, full digital servodrive, encoder, field bus communication.

CMZ distribution network keeps growing in Italy and worldwide.

FCT200 new master controller, up to 8 axis.

SVM new stepless stand alone drive.

Introduction of the HMI series for operator panels.

CMZ offering becames fully complete.

FCT300 new master controller, up to 99 axis.

LBD new brushless stand alone drive.

IBD new brushless integrated drive.

CODESYS is the new development environment.

4CONTROL keeps being the proprietary environment alongside with CODESYS.

NEAR BY new drive IP65 for rotary and linear brushless motors.

IBD brushless integrated  drive extends to new sizes.

IBD60 (flange 60) with compact and super efficient motor.

CMZ is acquired by SOGA ENERGY TEAM group.

The synergy merges CMZ electronic skills into SOGA electromechanical expertise.
